For registration targets, campaigns and sales as a “day registration”, the dealership needs a procedure that is done in minutes – without a trip to the authority and without fitting stamped plates to the vehicle.
Zevra is the B2B platform for digital vehicle registration for car dealers, registration services and fleets: cases are entered in the dealer portal and filed nationwide by power of attorney with qualified electronic signature – from €10 per registration, no base fee, no minimum volume.

What is a day registration legally?
The vehicle is registered for the first time and automatically taken out of service again on the same calendar day. Afterwards it counts as a used vehicle with one previous owner – the dealership. The registration certificate part II thus carries an entry; the papers are suitable for the later re-registration to the buyer.
What do you need for an online day registration?
- Registration certificate part II with security code (issued after 1 January 2018).
- Valid eVB number.
- Bank details/SEPA mandate for collecting vehicle tax.
- The keeper is the dealership itself – at Zevra with a standing power of attorney filed once, no new signature per vehicle.
How does the online day registration work?
- Uncover the security code of the registration certificate part II.
- Enter VIN, code, eVB number and bank details; choose the case type “day registration”.
- Automatic check and confirmation.
- Deregistration happens automatically at the end of the calendar day.
- For the later sale a re-registration with change of keeper to the buyer follows.
With Zevra the same procedure runs from your dealer portal: you enter the data, the keeper grants the power of attorney with a qualified electronic signature (QES) – no activated online ID card needed – and Zevra files the application digitally with the competent authority. The decision still rests with the registration authority.
Day registration and subsequent sale
After the day registration the vehicle is out of service. When you sell it, the next case runs as a re-registration with change of keeper: this requires the cancelled registration certificate part I and part II with codes – keep both in the vehicle file.
Typical pitfalls
- Registration certificate part I of the day registration misplaced – without its code no digital re-registration.
- eVB number not issued to the dealership.
- Case started by mistake as a normal new registration – then a separate deregistration follows.
What does a day registration cost at Zevra?
