With this sheet the customer drives off on the day of purchase. All details come from §§ 31 and 32 of the Vehicle Registration Ordinance (FZV) and from the Federal Ministry of Transport.
Zevra is the B2B platform for digital vehicle registration for car dealers, registration services and fleets: cases are entered in the dealer portal and filed nationwide by power of attorney with qualified electronic signature – from €10 per registration, no base fee, no minimum volume.

What is on the temporary registration proof?
| No. | Mandatory detail |
|---|---|
| 1 | name of the registration authority |
| 2 | application number |
| 3 | plate number of the registered vehicle |
| 4 | date of the registration decision |
| 5 | end date of the entitlement |
If one of these details is missing, a temporary registration proof may not be issued.
How long is the proof valid?
The end date on the proof is decisive. The Federal Ministry of Transport states 10 days after retrieval, including public holidays. The Vehicle Registration Ordinance allows driving without registration stickers until they arrive, at most for 14 days from retrieval of the automated decision.
For which cases is it issued?
- internet-based first registration
- internet-based re-registration
- change of keeper in the internet-based procedure
Where must the proof be in the vehicle?
The driver places it in the vehicle, clearly legible from outside, without interruption until the end of the day on which the entitlement ends. This does not apply to class L motor vehicles, such as motorcycles, or to class O trailers.
In addition, a clearly legible printout of the retrieved decision must be carried and handed over on request.
What happens if retrieval is missed?
If the temporary proof is not retrieved within 30 minutes, immediate use is not possible according to the Federal Ministry of Transport. The vehicle then only drives once the registration stickers are attached.
What does this mean for the dealership?
Print the proof right after the notice and place it in the vehicle before handover. In the Zevra dealer portal you see the status of the case live.
With Zevra, registration costs from €10, deregistration from €2 per case, net and plus official fees.
