In the trade the plate decides the handover: if it is ready when the temporary registration proof is printed, the customer drives off immediately.
Zevra is the B2B platform for digital vehicle registration for car dealers, registration services and fleets: cases are entered in the dealer portal and filed nationwide by power of attorney with qualified electronic signature – from €10 per registration, no base fee, no minimum volume.

What does the authority send – and what not?
| Arrives by post from the registration authority | Obtained by the applicant |
|---|---|
| Registration certificate part I (and part II if applicable) | Stamped number plates |
| Sticker carriers with stickers | Fitting the stickers |
| Sticker carrier for the roadworthiness test | — |
According to the Federal Ministry of Transport the stickers must be on the plates no later than 10 days after registration; until then the printed temporary registration proof applies, which must be clearly legible from outside the vehicle.
Option 1: your own plate press
After the registration decision the plate combination is fixed; the dealership stamps the plates immediately and hands over the vehicle with the temporary registration proof. Zevra works with any press – there is no tie to a plate supplier.
Option 2: order plates within the case
- Select plate order in the case – standard size 520 × 110 mm.
- Price: €4,50 per pair plus shipping, net.
- Shipping with tracking to the dealership, keeper or branch.
- The temporary registration proof bridges the delivery time – 10 days.
Personalised and special plates
The application states the next free, a reserved or a personalised plate. According to the Federal Ministry of Transport, electric, seasonal and historic (H) plates can also be chosen in the digital procedure. For E plates the E is not entered as stamped but marked as plate type – Zevra applies this automatically in the application.
What goes wrong with plates and stickers?
- Stickers not fitted within 10 days.
- Temporary registration proof not placed legibly from outside.
- When changing plates, the code under the inspection sticker of the old plate not uncovered.
- When peeling off the sticker cover at deregistration: the plate is invalid from that moment.
