The same applies to companies moving their registered office – such as the dealership's fleet and business customers. All details come from the Vehicle Registration Ordinance (FZV).
Zevra is the B2B platform for digital vehicle registration for car dealers, registration services and fleets: cases are entered in the dealer portal and filed nationwide by power of attorney with qualified electronic signature – from €10 per registration, no base fee, no minimum volume.

What options does the keeper have after the move?
| Case | Keeper's duty | Plate |
|---|---|---|
| Move within the registration district | report the new address without delay | stays |
| Move to another district, keep the plate | report the continued use, have part I changed | stays |
| Move to another district, new plate | apply for a new plate and a new part I | new |
How quickly must the change of address be reported?
Without delay. If the keeper does not comply, the registration authority may prohibit use of the vehicle on public roads until the duty is met.
The report can also be made through a residents' registration office, provided such a procedure is available there.
Which documents does the change of address need?
- registration certificate part I – replaced online by its security code
- registration certificate part II only if more than the address changes
- with a new plate: the previous plates for removal of the seal
If only the address changes, registration certificate part II does not have to be presented.
How does the online re-registration work?
The change on moving home or registered office can be applied for online. If the previous plate is kept, proof via registration certificate part II and its reissue are not required.
Until the new registration certificate part I arrives, at most 10 days after retrieving the decision, carrying the registration decision in readable form is sufficient.
What does this mean for the dealership?
In the Zevra dealer portal you create the case as a transfer without change of keeper – for private customers as well as for companies with a new registered office.
Registration costs from €10, deregistration from €2 per case, net and plus official fees.
