Resell EU vehicles digitally after the first registration
Vehicle registration for import dealers has two stages: the first German registration takes place at the registration authority because it withdraws the foreign papers. After that Zevra handles transfer to the buyer, deregistration and re-registration digitally.
What import dealers gain with Zevra
Transfer to the buyer digitally
As soon as the vehicle carries German papers with a security code, every further case goes through the dealer portal.
Handover the same day
The temporary registration proof is printed and valid for 10 days; papers and stickers arrive by post.
Power of attorney without online ID
The customer grants the power of attorney by qualified electronic signature – on a smartphone, without a card reader.
One procedure nationwide
Whatever registration district the customer lives in: one portal, one price, no trip to the authority.
How an EU import runs through Zevra
From import to sale – in 3 steps.
First registration at the authority
You prove the numbers of the foreign registration certificate; the authority withdraws the papers.
Receive German papers
Part I and part II with security codes – from now on the vehicle can be handled digitally.
Sell and transfer
Transfer to the buyer via Zevra, power of attorney by digital signature.
What to watch for with EU imports
General inspection only if due
It is required if it would have fallen due in the meantime under German intervals and no valid inspection from another EU country is proven.
Foreign papers: 6 months
The registration authority withdraws the foreign registration certificate, keeps it for 6 months and then destroys it.
Public prices
From €10 per registration, deregistration €2 – no base fee and no minimum volume.
