Stock vehicles, returns, seasonal cars: in the trade, re-registration is the procedure that most often fails because of one missing document – the cancelled registration certificate part I.
Zevra is the B2B platform for digital vehicle registration for car dealers, registration services and fleets: cases are entered in the dealer portal and filed nationwide by power of attorney with qualified electronic signature – from €10 per registration, no base fee, no minimum volume.

What do you need for an online re-registration?
- Cancelled registration certificate part I with the security code uncovered at deregistration – the last registration must have been after 1 January 2015.
- For a change of keeper: registration certificate part II with security code (after 1 January 2018).
- Valid eVB number, valid roadworthiness test (and safety inspection if applicable).
- Bank details/SEPA mandate of the keeper for vehicle tax.
- Number plate: the reserved old one, a new one or a personalised plate.
- Power of attorney from the keeper if the dealership files the application.
How does the online re-registration work?
- Enter the code of the cancelled registration certificate part I – for a change of keeper also the code of part II.
- Enter HU date, eVB number and bank details; choose the plate.
- Automatic validation, pay the fee, confirm the application – real-time check.
- Retrieve the temporary registration proof within 30 minutes – valid for 10 days.
- Papers and stickers arrive by post; attach within 10 days at the latest.
With Zevra the same procedure runs from your dealer portal: you enter the data, the keeper grants the power of attorney with a qualified electronic signature (QES) – no activated online ID card needed – and Zevra files the application digitally with the competent authority. The decision still rests with the registration authority.
Why the old registration certificate part I matters so much
The registration certificate part I is cancelled at deregistration – but its security code is the key to digital re-registration. If the document is missing or the code is damaged, the only route is the registration authority. When buying deregistered vehicles, the cancelled part I therefore belongs with the paperwork.
Typical rejection reasons
- Cancelled registration certificate part I missing or its code damaged.
- Roadworthiness test expired – common with vehicles that have been standing for a while.
- Last registration before 1 January 2015 (or part II before 2018 for change of keeper).
- Vehicle is not deregistered at all – then the correct procedure is a transfer.
