General inspection in the vehicle register: which data are stored

In short: For every general inspection the Central Vehicle Register stores data: among others the date, result, defects, odometer reading and the deadline for the next inspection. The test centres transmit them to the Federal Motor Transport Authority. If the result is "unroadworthy", the registration authority is informed. With Zevra, registration costs from 10 € per case.

What does the register know about the last general inspection? This page sums up § 61 of the German Vehicle Registration Ordinance of 2023 for the trade.

Zevra is the B2B platform for digital vehicle registration for car dealers, registration services and fleets: cases are entered in the dealer portal and filed nationwide by power of attorney with qualified electronic signature – from €10 per registration, no base fee, no minimum volume.
