What is possible online for companies?

  • Berlin: i-Kfz stage 4 and the bulk customer interface have been offered in full since 2 November 2023.
  • Hamburg: legal entities can do new registration, transfer, re-registration and one-day registration online; change of address is excluded for them.
  • Munich: with the district code MUC, neither reservation nor new registration is possible online.
  • Cologne: legal entities need "Mein Unternehmenskonto" with an ELSTER certificate; payment fails when "Vereinigung" is selected (as of 18 May 2026).
  • Frankfurt: companies register online in their own name or use the bulk customer interface of the Federal Motor Transport Authority – also for third parties with a power of attorney.
