Frankfurt bundles registration at the "Rund ums Auto" service centre and explains on its page how companies register online. This page sums up what the city itself publishes.
Zevra is the B2B platform for digital vehicle registration for car dealers, registration services and fleets: cases are entered in the dealer portal and filed nationwide by power of attorney with qualified electronic signature – from €10 per registration, no base fee, no minimum volume.

Which 2 routes does Frankfurt name for companies?
Since 1 September 2023 legal entities can also register online. The city describes 2 variants.
- Variant a: the company registers a vehicle online in its own name, similar to the procedure for natural persons.
- Variant b: via the bulk customer interface (Großkundenschnittstelle) at the Federal Motor Transport Authority in Flensburg, legal entities register vehicles for themselves and – under a power of attorney – for third parties, i.e. private customers.
The bulk customer interface requires registration through the KBA. According to the city, information on it is available exclusively from the KBA and not from the registration authority.
What applies in Frankfurt after the online application?
Once the online application is completed, a registration notice and a provisional proof of registration are ready for download. The city names 4 rules.
- Both documents must be downloaded within 30 minutes; otherwise the vehicle cannot be put into operation immediately.
- The provisional proof of registration must be placed clearly visible in the windscreen.
- Driving is then possible for 10 calendar days within Germany; the not yet stamped plates must be fitted to the vehicle.
- Registration certificate parts I and II arrive with the stickers by post at the keeper's address.
What does Frankfurt require for deregistration with a certificate of destruction?
Since 1 September 2023, registration certificate parts I and II must be presented with an application for deregistration with a certificate of destruction. For online deregistration they must be sent to the registration authority, which withdraws them.
